How many miles of electric driving range will it provide?
A 14-50 level 2 EV charger at 40 amps will provide around 32-36 miles of electric range per hour of charging and will charge most electric vehicles in around 6-8 hours. Providing 48 amps or 50 amps through a 14-50 outlet is against electrical code since the power should run at 80% i.e. 40 amps of the 50 amps capacity for safety reasons

From the end of 2024 and into 2025, most newly produced electric vehicles will come with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) connector. From 2025, Ford, General Motors, Chrysler will switch to a NACS charging port as the standard fitting on their vehicles. Genesis (Q4’2024), Hyundai (Q4’2024), Kia (Q4’24), Rivian (2025), VW (2025), Volvo (2025), Nissan (2025) and Toyota/Lexus (2025) will also adapt the NACS standard.
